We are really excited to introduce our delicious Plant Powered Fridays menu, created by our Executive Chef Brendan and expert in baby and child nutrition, Charlotte Stirling-Reed.

The new plant-based range launches this week and will feature a brand new dish every Friday on Menu C of our new Spring-Summer menu (available to view here). Our Plant Powered Menu features many delicious, nutritionally balanced meals including Root Vegetable Crumble, Sweet Potato Casserole, Roasted Butternut Squash Tagine, Mexican Bean Fiesta, and this Friday’s dish - Fruity Vegetable Curry.

Ensuring each dish is delicious, and using predominantly plant-based ingredients, the new menu sets out to familiarise children with meals that contain fruit and vegetables as their main ingredients, moving away from the traditional idea that a hot lunch should consist of meat and two veg.

Introducing lots of different flavours and ingredients from an early age helps to develop little ones’ tastebuds and is likely to encourage them to enjoy a wider variety of foods as they grow up. At Zebedees, we know that children at nursery tend to be more adventurous when it comes to trying different foods, as they eat with their friends in a social environment.  Introducing new dishes whilst at nursery is a brilliant way to encourage children to try foods that they haven’t previously encountered or would usually be unwilling to try at home.

The recipes developed for our new menu are delicious and nutritionally balanced, whilst at the same time still including many familiar ingredients for young children and focusing heavily on tasting good.  We’re really proud of them, and feel confident the children will love them too.
