Autumn/Winter Menu 2022-23

Today we launch our new Autumn/Winter Menu which will run until 30th April 2023. The new menus are now available to view on ZOO and the Our Menus page of our website.
The development of this new menus has been a real challenge due to the ongoing food supply issues that we are all experiencing as a result of Brexit, followed by the pandemic, and now the situation in Ukraine. We understand how important it is that the meals we deliver are in line with our menus and the disruption it causes to nurseries if we are unable to do this. Our Executive Chef, Brendan, has been working in collaboration with our trusted suppliers to ensure that ingredients used in the new menu will be readily available for the whole 6 months of the menus’ duration. He has also been collaborating with our Nutrition Consultant, Charlotte Stirling-Reed, to ensure that our menus still go above and beyond current Government Guidance for Menus for Early Years Settings. Brendan and Charlotte have made sure to take into account feedback from our nurseries on what works well with their children and we hope the result is a menu that is reliable, nutritious and popular!
What’s new on lunches?
The three-week lunch menu features seven brand new main course recipes!
Tuna & Mascarpone Pasta

Soya Beanie Pie with Cheesy Mashed Potato Topping
Mild Turkey Chilli
Beef, Potato & Vegetable Stew
Creamy Spinach, Butterbean & Pesto Chicken
Pork & Apricot Tagine
We have been taste testing these new recipes in the office and can confirm that they are both delicious and packed full of a wide range of vegetables, beans and pulses (and some fruit as well). We are really excited for the children to try them and hope they love them as much as we do!

Have you tried our Afternoon Teas?
Did you know that as well as lunches, we also offer hot and cold afternoon teas? Our tea menus are carefully balanced to complement our lunch menu, and provide children with their daily protein, carbohydrate, and dairy requirements, when served in addition to our lunches.
Our cold afternoon tea menu provides a delicious range of filled rolls, flatbreads, homemade pizzas and pastries with a separate fruit or vegetable item. Our hot tea menu provides a light, hot meal, perfect to warm children up on a chilly afternoon. We have also added some delicious new recipes to our most recent Hot Tea Menu. If you have heating facilities at your nursery and would like to try these then please contact Client Services.
Both our hot and cold tea menus are available to view on ZOO and can be ordered on an ongoing or adhoc basis, with a minimum order of 10 per day (on any day that you order). They are also zero rated for VAT! Please contact us if you would like any further information or to find out how to place an order.
Your feedback matters
Thank you so much to all of you who have contacted us with your feedback and/or filled out our Menu Feedback questionnaire for our Spring/Summer menu. It is really important to us that we are developing menus that work for nurseries, are enjoyed by the children and are providing a balanced diet.
Once we have completed the first three-week cycle of the new menu we will once again be asking for you to help us by completing our survey. Your views really do matter to us and helps us to ensure we are keeping on the right track when it comes to what nurseries want from our menus and service overall.
