Zebedee's Lunch Box was created in 1998 by Directors, Philip Oates & Steve Parsons to satisfy a gap in the children's nursery and school food market. Recognising the need for a service that would provide hot and nutritious meals for nurseries with limited kitchen space, Zebedee's provides a ‘meals on wheels' service for the childcare and education sector.
Initially running all aspects of the business directly, the Directors have now grown the Company to over 100 members of staff and deliver to over 200 customers throughout the South East.
Our Client Services Team are there to support, advise and answer queries for both new and existing customers. They also regularly organise special themed lunches to help keep lunchtime fun and engaging for the children.
Steve Russell, Executive Head Chef, leads the kitchen team, all of whom have obtained either the Intermediate/Level 2 or 3 Award in Supervising in Food Safety. In-house training is regularly undertaken to ensure that all staff understand and adhere to the high standards in place. We also undertake regular audits of our health and safety procedures and HACCP plan, with our Catering Management team. Three team members hold Level 3 HACCP, as well as a number of other qualifications, including first aid, health & safety, and healthier foods & special diets.
Working closely with our Local Environmental Health Department, we have received a 5 star rating for our premises and are subject to regular inspections. Our business has received Approved Status under the 2005 EC Food Hygiene Regulations. We also hold a Primary Authority Partnership with our Local Council.
